25 year old Army veteran Nayeli Jimenez lives a quiet life in the city. She spends most of her days painting plaster monster masks for her job at Killer Effects Studios, exploring new restaurants with her girlfriend, Katya, and dealing with fatherly advice from her boss, Hal.
But Nayeli and the Killer Effects Studios staff members have a major secret: they are also a network of masked assassins, out to kill the scumbags of society. They hide in plain sight, transferring gory bodies and wearing bloody clothes throughout the day. Nayeli is the best assassin they’ve got. Her driving motivation? A desire to find and reconnect with a long-lost lover, who mysteriously disappeared.
When Tanya Hutchins, a bubbly journalist, moves in next door, Nayeli is excited to make a new friend. But that quickly changes when Nayeli encounters Tanya one night in the midst of a hit, and gets her ass kicked. This single encounter sets off a chain reaction, with Nayeli playing a game of cat and mouse during the night, and trying to foster a budding friendship during the day… or could this relationship be more than that?
Nayeli must navigate her relationships with Tanya and Katya while keeping her double life a secret, and also, find a way to overcome the force that threatens to take over the city’s underground.
